In an interview aired on May 19, 2026, on Israeli Channel 13, the American journalist Tucker Carlson directly confronted host Udi Segal, breaking with the usual discourse in Israeli media.

When Segal referred to Iran as a “terror regime,” Carlson responded bluntly:

“As an Israeli, you should pause before using that phrase. You live in a country that has murdered thousands of children in Gaza.”

The American communicator denounced that Israel has lost its moral compass, that it is not a full democracy because millions of Palestinians under occupation lack political rights, and that the behavior of the Israeli government in Gaza is “disgusting and immoral.”

Carlson also criticized Benjamin Netanyahu’s strong influence over Donald Trump and questioned the continued sending of U.S. military aid.

For the first time in a long time, an Israeli television platform allowed uncomfortable truths to be heard about the occupation, civilian deaths, and the double standard in the conflict.

As columnist Gideon Levy pointed out in Haaretz, there was “not a single word from Tucker Carlson that wasn’t true.”

Amid the polarization and criticism from the White House, Carlson recalled a painful reality: the killing of civilians does not become self-defense depending on who carries it out.
